These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Syed Shahbaz Husain ("we", "us", "our"), the developer of the MacroDish mobile application (the "App"). By downloading, creating an account, or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
You need an account to use MacroDish. We sign you in with a one-time code sent to your email address; keep access to that mailbox secure, as anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent where you live) to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for activity that takes place under your account.
We limit how many accounts may be created from a single device to deter abuse of the free tier. See the Privacy Policy for what that involves.
Nutrition values come from our own food database and, for foods we don't yet hold, from an automated service that estimates them. Estimates can be wrong. Where you name a restaurant and we do not hold that venue's published figures, the App uses standard values for the dish and tells you so. Do not rely on any figure in the App where accuracy matters medically.
The free plan lets you log up to 2 meals a day, with daily targets and the home-screen summary included. Paid plans (Pro and Premium) are not yet available for purchase. When they launch:
Some versions of the App show advertising to users on the free and Pro plans. Where ads are shown, they are served by Google AdMob; the Premium plan removes them. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising affects your data.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these rules, or that we reasonably believe is being used abusively.
The meals and details you enter remain yours. You grant us the licence needed to store and process them so the App can work — including sending food descriptions to our automated nutrition service, and including your figures in the anonymous averages other users are compared against. Those averages never identify you or expose an individual log.
The App, its design, its name and its logo belong to us and are protected by intellectual property law. These Terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms; if a change is significant, we will let you know in the App or by email. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account from Profile → Account settings → Delete account, or via our account deletion page. Deleting your account removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription — cancel that in your App Store or Google Play settings.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any nutrition figure is accurate or complete.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of your use of the App. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana have exclusive jurisdiction — except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings there.
If you downloaded the App from the App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the App. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for any claim relating to the App, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual-property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
